AI workshops for libraries and community groups
We run plain-English AI workshops for Australian public libraries, councils, U3A and Probus branches, National Seniors groups and member organisations. A live facilitated session for your members or your staff, plus full access to the six-module course afterwards so nobody has to remember everything on the day. Quoted per group, in person or online.
Most AI training assumes the room already knows what a prompt is. That is the wrong room. The people who come to a library session are usually the ones who have been quietly avoiding this for two years, and who have been made to feel slow about technology by somebody who found it easy.
So the session starts where they actually are, and it does not pretend. No jargon, no hype, and no suggestion that anybody is behind.
What a session covers
- What these tools actually are, in one sentence a person can repeat to a friend afterwards
- Asking for something and getting a useful answer back, done live rather than described
- Which tool to start with, and why it barely matters as much as people fear
- Spotting when AI is confidently wrong, which it will be
- AI-flavoured scams, and how they differ from the ones people already know to watch for
- What happens to what you type in, and how to keep private things out of it
- When not to use AI, which is a real answer and not a disclaimer
Who books these
Public libraries and councils
Digital literacy programs for the community, usually as a single session or a short series. This is the most common booking.
U3A, Probus and National Seniors
Branch meetings and member programs, where the audience is curious, cautious, and sharper than most people assume.
Member organisations
Associations running professional development for members who are being told to use AI without being shown how.
Staff teams
Library and council staff who field the questions, and would rather answer them than deflect them.
How it works
- Tell us the groupRoughly how many people, whether they are members or staff, and what you are hoping they can do afterwards. That last one shapes the session more than the numbers do.
- We send a quoteWritten, itemised, with whatever your finance team needs on it. Community and member organisations are priced differently from workplaces.
- We run the sessionLive and facilitated, in person or online, built around your slot rather than a fixed script.
- Everyone keeps the courseFull access to all six modules for every attendee, so the session is a starting point rather than the whole thing.
What it costs
Workshops are quoted per group. A branch of twelve and a council running a four-session program are genuinely different jobs, and a fixed price for both would be wrong for one of them.
Community groups, libraries and member organisations are priced differently from workplaces. Purchase orders and invoices are both fine.
Every quote includes full course access for everyone who attends and one or more live facilitated sessions, and it is confirmed in writing before anything is booked.
Common questions
Do our members need any experience, or their own device?
No experience at all. The whole course is built for people who have not started and are quietly worried they have left it too late. A device helps, because people learn this by doing rather than watching, but someone who comes with nothing will still follow the session and can work through the course afterwards at home.
Can you run the workshop online instead of in person?
Yes. The session is live and facilitated either way, and the course access that comes with it is identical. Tell us which suits your group when you enquire.
What does it cost, and can you invoice us?
Workshops are quoted per group, because a branch of twelve and a council running four sessions are not the same job. Community and member organisations are priced differently from workplaces. Purchase orders and invoices are both fine, and we will send whatever your finance team needs.
Do members keep access after the session?
Yes. Every group package includes full access to the six-module course for everyone who attends, so nobody has to remember it all on the day. That is deliberate: an hour in a room is where confidence starts, not where it finishes.
Will this cover scams and privacy, not just how to use the tools?
Yes, and for this audience it is often the part that matters most. The course covers spotting AI errors, recognising AI-enabled scams, protecting your privacy when you use these tools, and knowing when not to use AI at all.
How do we know it is pitched at the right level?
Watch the first lesson before you book. It is free, complete, and needs no sign-up or payment details. If the pitch is wrong for your members you will know inside five minutes, which is a much cheaper way to find out than a booked session.
