AI consulting and implementation
We help Australian organisations move from AI curiosity to AI competency. Four pieces of work: an honest assessment of where you actually stand, a staged roadmap built around your budget, capability, risk and timeline, training designed for your people rather than a generic deck, and ongoing advisory as the tools keep changing. Scoped and quoted per organisation.
Strategy without execution is just a PowerPoint. Most organisations we talk to do not need a bigger vision for AI; they need somebody to say plainly which two things are worth doing this quarter and which eight are a distraction.
We do not resell tools and take no commission from any vendor, so a recommendation is only ever a recommendation.
The four pieces
AI Readiness Assessment
A clear-eyed audit of where your organisation actually stands, what is worth doing first, and what is not worth doing at all. More on the assessment.
Implementation Roadmap
A staged, practical plan built around your budget, capability, risk and timeline. No generic frameworks.
Tailored Training Programs
Hands-on training designed for your staff, your members or your community. Not a slideshow, a working session.
Ongoing Advisory
Monthly check-ins, course-correction and tool evaluation as the landscape keeps shifting under everyone.
How an engagement usually runs
- A conversation firstWhat has prompted the question, who is asking for it, and what would count as a good outcome. No payment details and no commitment at this stage.
- AssessmentWhere the organisation actually is: capability, appetite, risk tolerance, and the things already being done that nobody has written down.
- RoadmapA staged plan with an order of operations, so the first thing attempted is one that can succeed.
- Training and adoptionThe part most plans skip. Tools that nobody is confident using do not get used, and unused tools look identical to failed ones on a budget line.
- Advisory, if you want itMonthly check-ins while things settle, and honest reassessment when a tool you built around changes underneath you.
What you can expect us to say
- That some of what you were sold at a conference is not worth doing
- That the constraint is usually process and confidence, not technology
- Where your privacy and record-keeping obligations make a popular tool a poor fit
- Which single change would make the most difference in the next quarter
- When the honest answer is that you do not need us yet
Common questions
Do we have to start with the readiness assessment?
No, but most organisations should. Building a roadmap before anyone has established what the organisation can actually absorb is how you end up with a plan nobody follows. If you have already done that work elsewhere, bring it and we will start from there.
Will you tell us not to do things?
Regularly. A good chunk of the value here is naming what is not worth doing at all, which is the part a vendor selling you a tool has no reason to say. If the honest answer is that you need better processes before you need AI, that is the answer you will get.
Are you going to sell us software?
No. We do not resell tools and we take no commission from any vendor, so tool recommendations are just recommendations. That independence is the whole point of asking someone outside.
Our staff are nervous about AI. Is that a problem?
It is the normal starting condition, and it is usually a better one than false confidence. The training side of this work exists precisely for that: plain-English sessions that assume nothing and do not make anyone feel slow.
What does it cost?
Consulting is scoped and quoted per organisation, because the work genuinely differs. Tell us the size of the organisation and what has prompted the question, and we will come back with a scope and a written quote rather than a rate card.
Who is actually doing the work?
Naomi, a Canberra-based former linguist, lawyer and commercial aviation manager, and the founder of Wild Hearts Publishing. Deliberately not an engineer, which is the point: the difficulty in adopting AI is almost never the technology. More about why I built this.
